I had a seal leaking on my power trim. No problem, I ordered a new seal kit. When I took the cap off, I noticed the ends of the trim rams that contact the motor, were mushroomed out. I guess the motor had hit them too hard. This made it impossible to remove the caps to change the leaking seals. Well crap. I looked online for new ram pistons. $159 each!!! Ouch!!! Well, I sent Cray a text for some advice. He told me to try sanding them with Emory cloth, if it didn’t work I wasn’t out anything. Quick trip to Ace Hardware for a couple sheets or Emory. I cut each sheet into strips, pulled up a lawn chair behind the boat and applied massive amounts of elbow grease. Hot dang, it actually worked. I was able to remove the caps and change the leaking seals. Cray saved me over $300 for new rams. Thanks again Cray. As soon as this COVID crap is over with, we will go out to Como and supper is on me.
