Default Same unit at bow and console

I am fairly new to fishing with electronics. I recently purchase a Helix 7. I have not yet installed. I initially thought I would be satisfied with the unit on the bow only. After researching and doing some thinking I realized I would like to be able to use it at the console as well. Is there a way to have the option of moving my unit from bow to console?? I know I will need a set of cables at each location. I have seen the splitter cables but cannot find if that will solve my problem. I would prefer not to purchase an additional transducer. Thank you for any possible assistance.

I use one head unit and move it from console to bow. I have a transducer on the trolling motor and on transom. I have to bases and sets of cables at each location. However I just bought a newused Helix 5 for the bow.

I think the only way you will be happy is with two transducers, one at bow and one at transom. You will only use one at a time.

What Lug said. If you want to move it around, you'll need another transducer. I went through only having one for a year or so and it just doesn't work to well. If you have the transducer on the back of the boat, you'll be looking at images that are 18-20 feet behind you. You won't know if you're on the top of bottom of the ridge

If your brand new to electronics, I’d mount the good unit on bow and get it set up right. Then for the money you would spend making it movable you could get a small cheap unit for console that will give you water depth and good enough to mark brush piles and stuff. Your going to spend 90% of your time on the bow anyway. Get that one right.

    Cheaper than transducer

I was in the same situation early on and I don't know if this will work for you or not. But what I did was use a RAM mount where I can use it from the console then turn it forward where I can see it from the bow as well. That also works well for me when I'm trolling cranks or long lining jigs because I can look to the back of the boat and see my graph as well.
