I used to think those things were really for just show until I saw them on a boat last year with guys fishing stumps and trees. I'm always going into the wind so it doesn't blow me over the spot. Those guys would get in position either direction and let those down to hold while they fished instead of having to use the trolling motor or running over the spot. I was like dang. They don't come cheap.
