I guess if you consider replacing a perfectly suited building with a lesser building - progress, then this is what it looks like.

Cedar beams and rafters. Bet they got a good discount on em. Roof decking going on today.

The old metal building had exceeded it's design life and was starting to run into some major issues that were increasing maintenance costs each year (not to mention the cleaning costs of trying to keep all of the birds out of it which was a losing battle). The bathroom was going to need all plumbing completely redone including tearing up the slab. This will be much nicer once completed and a lot less maintenance. The bathroom is all concrete. We are researching the possibility of putting retractable garage doors on the north side of the pavilion to help during the colder spring days. Also have new primitive campgrounds going in over near main beach that provide great views. Habitat Day is coming up Feb 24th. Hope to see a big turnout!

Hmmm. Sounds like Gotucker is in the know. I'll buy the plumbing issues, but birds? That's don't fly. Hehehehe. Y'all see what I did there? I'm funny.

Anywho, can't imagine repairs to a metal building being more than a raise and rebuild. But what do I know. I'm just a taxpayer.

Would appreciate doors on the north side. Otherwise, it will be unusable for a good number of early and late tournaments.

As much as I complain about the COE, it's not the people on site here. They are top notch, hard working, good men and women. Now, the management out of Vicksburg that dream up these projects, allocate the funds or lack thereof......

The pavilions at Clarkco State Park has had a bad problem with bats roosting in the sealing's. Leaving there bat dung all over the place which smells very bad. So yes birds can be a big problem.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Other than the bathrooms I agree with the sentiment this building is a downgrade. This was never a picnic pavilion, but it looks like that's the type building going up now. There are at least 3 or 4 big dollar events, as well as several smaller ones, each year at this location that need more than just a roof. Doors on the north end still won't bring it back as good as it was and it was just adequate in the past. Don't want anybody's job--I know it's thankless. But C'mon Man!
