If any of you have worked for a large corporation, you know things aren't always as they seem from the outside and there are tons of hurdles to overcome. This is twofold for most government agencies. A huge attempt has been made in the last 4-5 years to listen to the public on recommendations for the projects. Some are good and we have tried to accomplish, some not so good. Floating docks were one of those requests that were seen on here and mentioned to the ranger force so and an attempt has been made to appease that request. We hope you will find these additions along with the new restroom/shower facilities, cleaning stations, and sewage hookups in the Class A campgrounds (just to name a few) to your liking. And we really appreciate all of the volunteer efforts that are made. It is a huge part of cleanup days, habitat days, and many other special events that wouldn't be possible without the volunteers.

dont know your affiliation with COE , but while we're on this subject.... can you share any input on the river ramp on Hwy 7 ? Like .. what were they thinking? Tons of taxpayer dollars was wasted on that project. The idea was great , but ramp is only accessible a few months out of the year. Why don't they dredge a channel from river bed to ramp ?

State regulations wouldn't allow the ramp to go directly into the river. I agree that it is troublesome and a fix to it is in the works but may take years to get the required funding. An attempt is made to clean it out several times each year but it silts back in as soon as the river comes up and falls.

"An attempt is made to clean it out several times each year but it silts back in as soon as the river comes up and falls"

What is done with the clean out? If piled to the side it will only wash back in. Rock off some low areas and back fill like Memphis had Riverside drive done. Contact some landfills to use it to cover the garbage.

Enid has their habitat day set in stone, the first saturday of Feb. Grenada has theirs the second weekend, Butla has theirs the third weekend. That leaves Sardis with the last weekend of Jan or the last weekend Feb so it doesn't work against the other 3.
Enid has a great force of volunteers to help where needed, the turnout on habitat day shows it with close to 200 workers and some great/good food and door prizes. Like Joel pointed out when you run off volunteer help you run off others that could help just by word of mouth.
