Thread: Donaldson Point Old River Run

Wow, I haven't heard of that place since 1965...i used to get to fish there while in high school...we didn't think about slots back then, but my old memories say they were of decent size

My wife has a sister that her and her husband have a place on the river bank there, but they don't ever fish. I was planning on going over there when we visit, and try some crappie out.

There are fish that are caught there from time to time but I have not heard of any great catches or large fish.

Haven't been over there in years and haven't fished around there in almost 20. I used to spend a lot of summers over at Concordia Rod & Gun Club. Back then it was a shame me and my brother were in the green carp phase. Remember and old rice farmer from AR who was a member would come down and clean up on crappie on the sloughs back near the river. Shoot, while everyone else was deer or turkey hunting he just as soon take the boat out and catch a mess of crappie. Sorry cant help you with recent reports, but did bring back some good memories of the delta.
