ELITE 5 QUESTION .
How do you know which map cards work with this unit . I thought the "insights" card was what was needed . will all micro cards work in this unit ? If they all work which will be best for ms. lakes ? as the title says this is for a lowrance elite 5 series . when I pulled it up on the net "insights" was listed but navionics was also . confusing to me .

Some Navionics will work just fine. From what I understand you have to be careful because of the capacity of the processor in that unit. I'm not sure if the lakemaster will work with lowrance. If it would that is the one I would recommend. Sever guys I know who run low units really like the Insite mapping for our lakes. I have a Navionics premium and it's pretty good for the contour lines on our lakes but my lakemaster with its features is better in my opinion.

so they will interchange ? Was looking at the ones in classified and was wondering if it would work . These units are clear and very accurate "but" the mapping is S----L----O----W ! I knew that going in. I got one because 90 % of what I fish is on my handheld .

Those that gene has for sale may just over power your unit. That's the reason for really doing the research. Those units have a really weak processor thus there were lots of complaints when they first came out about being really slow to update as you were moving and when you zoom in or out. Think I read where if you zoomed out quite a bit they would work better :i.e. Faster.
