As a rule, I'm generally opposed to laws. The more laws we have the more government there must be to support the laws. It makes my dream of a smaller, less intrusive government less likely. And blah blah blah and yada yada yada...

This is one rule that's not a bad idea, in principle anyway. Nobody wants them things flying around.

My concern here is over its enforcement. What I mean is that bait taken from the spillway is going to look a whole lot like bait taken from the lake. Other than banning shad for use as bait on the lake, I don't know how they'd determine an enforcement policy. And I would be opposed to banning shad. I keep a cast net on my boat for the specific purpose of picking up shad while I'm trolling. Free bait is good bait.

So, surprisingly, I'm not opposed to this suggested rule, but I'd have to withhold support until somebody told me how it would be enforced.

Probably, we'll just end up with big ole carp jumping at us while we're on the lake.
