We were fishing double rigs today and the top of the rig was at the top of the water so the top bait might have been 6 inches deep, even caught a double on one pole!!

When trolling shallow water, say 2-3 ft. deep, do yall go with single hooks with the weight a foot or so above? When using a double rig, when the top hook is a foot or so deep, the bottom hook and/or weight drag the bottom. Thanks!

Usually fishing that shallow consistently I'll just remove the top hook.

Me too Charley but we caught a couple on that top hook, was just trying to get in a couple hours between storms so just went with what was on the poles.

If I've got a couple feet of water I use the double rig with the weight in the middle. I always tie a few with the hooks no more than twelve inches apart. Ii never use the Kentucky rig if I even think i might get in 4-5 fow.
Single 1/2oz jig or two quarters a foot or less apart in really skinny, or thick cover water.
