you owe it to yourself to try braid. Try some 20 lb (6lb diameter) power pro moss green and then using a uni to uni knot to tie the Fluoro or mono leader you want. Your gonna kick yourself when you find out how far you can throw that stuff. The leader knot is sort of a pain. But I have fished the last two Saturdays with the same three ft leader. Caught about 60 fish on it including a 20" and an 18" bass. The power pro I have been fishing for two years. Don't over spool,it can cause about the only bad thing with braid (wind knots). I continue to try using the braid tied directly to the line. But I still am catching fish 3 or 4 to one with the leader,so for now I am using leader.Like I said it is not a big deal...I fish a long time with the leader. I use 8lb and the whole rig fishes easier than a spool of 6lb mono. You will feel every strike twice as well, a hook set is just a little snap of the wrist if at all. Set the drag down and go easy...you won't have any stretch and you can pull the hook if you try to haul back like you do with mono. You won't believe the "thump" with this stuff. Even on the end of the longest cast you can make.
