Thread: Homesite question?

I figured one of you fine fellows had some experience with this. About how much would it cost to clear/prepare a 1 acre house site that is fully wooded in 25 year old mixed hardwood/pine? Would leave any good shade trees, so just getting rid of the scrap really. Not actually worried about the site prep, just getting someone to push the trees and dispose of the leavings? Would it be worth anything as pulp? I am just weighing options at this time..........

Every place is different. Mine was 5 acres and I had a few big pole pines that I had cut and sold and profited about $2500. Then the rest was hardwood and very thick scrub pines about 15-20 ft tall. The small scub pines I had to pay to get removed. Hired one of those skid steer mulch grinder machines. It cost about $2000. I left all the hardwood except for near the homesite. These I removed myself and had the stumps ground up, another $500. So I guess I broke even on the clearing process.
