The fuse is the first thing off the battery going to the switch. I removed it today while the engine was running, it Died.
Checking online for parts, I can find a starter for the tractor for $223. Haven't found a solenoid yet. Still looking.

The solenoid looks just like one on a older model Ford truck except smaller.....it is not mounted on the starter. Actually one for a old Ford truck will work.

Yea G that's what I'm finding. Remove the old solenoid from the starter and mount a new close on the frame. $12.47 online or $46 at the John Deere dealer.

I checked Napa. Every solenoid under $20 is out of stock at 3 stores close to me.
This one ordered is what John Deere says to use, shipped free for $12.47.
After I ordered it I got jumped to another site. The John Deere starter is $58.90 shipped. Wished I'd seen it first.

Remove the ignition switch, clean and lube it before going any farther.
