if you are old enough and can afford it then do it. so many people retire and bang they are gone. I had a friend I was talking to one day and said, "you should be getting your s.s. now." he pointed to his shirt pocket and said, "I just got my second one today." a week later he was gone. looked like the picture of health. even had a physical and the dr said he was fine. he and his wife were fixing to travel. we aren't given tomorrow. do it while you are young, so to speak, when you get old you may not be able.
Do not allow yourself to become depressed. Each night write down what you wish
to accomplish the next day - plan your day and work you plan
Not everything requires money or expenditures.
Look for ways to volunteer - at local school - nursing homes -
delivery work such as meals on wheels.
Even if you have a handicap of some kind - your knowledge may help someone else
become a mentor.
Have retired for 8 yrs and never looked back after 50 plus years in trucking/transportation industry.
If I think I'm getting bored . I take a nap. lol.

The taking a nap thing is a sign of depression - be careful in that direction.
Probably one of the greatest tools that will help - is your pc -laptop and access
to the Internet.................The Internet opens up a whole world to us.
Just having conversations and being part of something - ie: talkiing on here,
makes a person want to read and see what is going to be said next. Mixing being
part of something- being able to participate will keep you moving in fun direction.
MY FATHER LIVED TO BE 93........had mind that one could not believe - when Comm
-odore computers first came out - he built his own programs, made his own games,
wrote programs for other companies and was completely self taught. But he would
not except CHANGE - DID NOT WANT TO ADVANCE AS TECH. MOVED FOREWARD -
MICROSOFT REPLACED A LOT OF THINGS - MADE PC'S FUN AND MORE EASIER FOR
THE EVERYDAY PERSON- THE INTERNET CAME ONBOARD - THIS WAS A GREAT
REVOLUTION for us all. Father wouldn't exept and fell into depression
only wanted to eat & sleep - than cam biabetes - heart problems and various other
situatoins. Went from 172 lbs - 6 ft 2 to over 300 lbs -
All I can say is" It's 5 o;clock some where"![]()

I'm my opinion , taking a nap is a choice and has nothing to do with depression. It's like watching tv and that's another choice.

Not met to alarm or make you mad, everyone is entittled to opinon -, Went through
several brain, medical, annizaltion tests @ Univ. South Florida. -
They did several things regarding my "at first starting to become
somewhat forgetful" When all my working life, my memory function
was my mainstay to handling situations, making instant decisions and moving
on to next opportunity. Somewhat memory loss was scaring the bee-jeebers out of me.
Catching myself putting off what was needed to do today to saying would do it tomorrow. Making excuses or things like "i'm tired, will take 1 hr power nat" Back
hurts, it too hot out........
Again, everyone is different and reacts differently on same subjects.
