    Default Onboard charger question

If running two 12 V batteries in a series do I need a two bank charger are three bank charger to charge the starting battery also. In other words do I need to put one bank to the starter battery and one Bank to the two Trolling batteries? What should I do with the third bank? Will the Minnkota charger charger 12 V system and 24 V system?

If I understand your question correctly, if you have three batteries you will need a three bank charger. One bank (pos., neg.) for each of the trolling batteries, which is two banks, and one for your starting battery. The charger is not hooked in series..........one bank per battery. Hope this answers your question.

You will need a three bank charger....one bank for starting battery and one bank for each trolling battery.... The MinnKota 330D is about as good as you can get. Check with Brian at BBG Marine for best price. bbgmarine

So if the two trolling batteries are hooked together I still need a bank for each one

Yep, I never unhook mine. I also have the minn kota charger on my Wareagle boat. I have a Skeeter boat also, with a 36 volt TM, and a cranking battery which is four batteries. I have a 4 bank charger that stays plugged in, without undoing any wires.

Are you running a 12 volt motor or 24?

One bank per battery. You don't unhook anything to charge them...you just plug the charger in and it does the rest. I've left mine on the charger all winter in the past...its a digital charger and it only charges when needed. I got mine from Big River Marine. I'll never have a boat without one...it's a very cheap luxury.
