We began fishing around noon and fished until about 5:30. Caught 5 really big keepers and lost about the same number of good big fish. We had about 20 short fish. Most of the short fish were in 5-10 fow but, without exception, all of the big fish were in 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 fow. This was a definite change from the pattern up to a week ago for us when we were still catching some good ones in 10-11 fow. This trip is purty much par for the course this season catching about 5-10 keepers in around a half day of fishing. We seldom get up and go at daylight and never fish all day and go about twice a week. I know there are folks that do a lot better. Just consider this a report from a below average old geeser fisherman.

Good thing about that many shorts is they are fun to catch and bodes well for the future.

Couldn't wear one back when we quail hunted, too many briars. We once killed 10 on a fast covey rise and he tried to claim 7. He's trying to figure out how to do that fishin.
He has done the same thing to me and jimmy duck hunting !! He is sneaky!
