    Default helix issue,,,,,

tried alittle fishing yesterday in the Dead Sea yesterday afternoon until the wind picked up, but it was hard seeing my Helix 5 Wouldnt power up..... so I just went around some trees and hugged a few hours with no avail,,, Came home just in time to beat the rain,,,, So I get up first thing this morning to check out the Helix and find that I had plugged the power cord in backwards , Reguardless of the anti- screw up plug that was notched for one way install,,,,, So Helix buyers beware,,,, if your power won't come in for some strange reason, be sure the plugs installed correctly, Reguardless of what you think,,,, works great now,,,,yea!

It's not just the Helix, done the exact same thing this morning on my 899, if not for your post I would have never thought about that being the problem, thanks.

Better than hooking up your steering backwards and having to switch it on the ramp

Very lucky that it didn't short out something. I would have thought it would have at least blown the 3 amp fuses that is to protect the sonar.
Be safe and good luck fishing

This is how I keep my Humminbird plugs straight...I take a silver Sharpie and make an index mark on the sonar and again on the plug to make sure they line up the right way every time. It makes things quick and easy. Just line up the dots and you know it's correct.
