I do install those units and I can network them however you want. Just give me a call for any details. 870-635-0202

The Lowrance HDS units can show up to 4 screens at a time (5 if you split screen the sonar), but for me, showing both mapping programs at the same time, side by side is a huge advantage when searching for fish holding patterns. It's easier to see the structure on Navionics (which I call the layer of the land, aka 1' contours, flats, drop offs, ledges, etc) and potential Cover on the Insight (which I call trees, bridges, house foundations, and all natural or man made Cover). The Insight is better at showing you in blue the old creeks, ditches, home places, bridges, old roads, etc that were in the lake bed before they were flooded. Navionics has better contour definition.

Thanks for the better explanation. I've always had grey scale 2d so this is all new to me. To an experienced guru it prolly made sense but to a rookie it is all confusing.

Thanks again for for all the replies. Will update with some pics once I pull the trigger

I can show you easier than trying to type it. Only takes a few minutes.

My BEST advise to you is to go to Bass Pro and check them ALL out before you spend that kinda money. What's right for someone else may not be right for you. Don't buy what someone else wants you to have, just because THEY have one, but buy what YOU like best.

Both HB and Lowrance are like a new smart phone. Once you learn how to use them correctly, they are both user friendly.

I have been fortunate enough to fish with a guy that has crappie fished for 40 years, he is a well known guide and tournament fisherman. The first time I fished with him I was expecting to see the most elaborate equipment available. He had minimal amount of equipment. He never turned it on. The last time I fished with him was a few weeks ago. This was the first time that he was running it. He was mainly checking depth and change in water temp.

I guess the the old saying applies here as well it is not the bow it is the Indian! Lol!
