Ordered 2 14' southern crappie rods Saturday night and they were shipped out on Monday and I received them today. Can't wait to try them out.

Been reading and lot of people sure like southern rods. Not seeing any lure weights for the rods? I am new to crappie fishing and am guessing 1 rod can't do it all. What I have been reading this is great for spider rigging but could u use same rod for pulling cranks or pushing cranks with 3 plus oz weight??

Talked to Ed about that. He designed the tip to work best with 1/2 oz weight. He does not recommend trying to push heavy weights with them. I have run 1 oz with out any problem. As stout as they are wouldn't bother me to pull cranks with them.

I wouldn't even consider using a 3 ounce weight on my Southerns. The fast action tip would be pointed straight down and useless. I have PST's for heavy duty type of work.
