Have been looking for a way to keep my rods off the deck without adding side transport racks. This is the best option I could conjure up, only thing is it may interfere with my view. May could rig up a cheap pvc prototype to test it out. would be using the middle seat base to hold it, so no extra screws. Would like to have a flat top on it to use as a table for pliers or jigs. Any thoughts?
Just hate using the rocket launchers for a 14-18ft rod...

That looks like a good idea! Mite could make some money with that one!
my fishing partner has a Cajun center console bayboat he has a setup similar to the one you drew up and it is fully adjustable up and down and is out of the point of view !!! here is a picture hope this helps !!!

That's a sho' 'nuff captains chair on the front of his rig!
While your at it Mo,,,, figure one out for a Fish and Ski
Ranger boats
Perotti pro holders
Avery outdoors superstore
Add about 20 degrees of up angle and put it on the rear seat pedestal. Don't think I would want them pole tips slapping me in the face. You could still build your little table top and move pedestal forward after deploying rods.
MO, putting the rod holder base way up front will get you slapped upside the head by the rod tips if you're hauling butt. Imagine going 30-40 MPH and those rod tips flapping in the wind. Wouldn't be good. I like the on strmwalker posted. OUt of the way. ME, I just put half my rods on the deck of the boat on each side of the Console. Ain;t broke one yet and they're out of the way.
