Clfarms1 ..you saying you shouldnt care about oil field workers cause when fuel is high cause they ain't worried about you.. Is like me saying a I shouldn't worry about a farmer because of the gov money they take, the belly aching about going broke they do, but at the same time buy a 60,000 "work truck"?
The price of everything goes up and down with supply/demand and with oil prices. Does it always equal out... Absolutely not.

But what's being done to the oil prices is OPEC is minupulating them as I said earlier(days ago). our demand was met.. We were importing less oil from them, instead if them cutting back production to meet the demand, they kept the same rate therefore flooding the market "so to speak" just as farmers did with corn correct?? And in return the price drops due to demand.. Then the prices fall and becomes not affordable for the USA to produce oil for itself so we'll have to go back to importing from mid eastern countries putting them back in the dominant spot in the oil world, sending $$$$$ to their country, and putting us further away from supplying ourself.

Think about it. When you first heard the talk about the USA breaking the foreign dependency on oil you were for it correct?? It didn't mean that we would get gas for free.. Everything has price.

I agree that in every business there's wasting of money and people living "high on the hog". I work In The oil field. It ain't the workers living high on the hog... Just like in farming it ain't the guy driving the tractor living high on the hog.
If fuel cost me 2.50/gal and keeps me working and you working and your hands working I'm all for it. Because I promise you if it keeps dropping it won't just effect me. It'll get you too. Your prices will fall, gov funds will be cut to farmers, etc. because in ALL businesses and government the last place they cut is the top
I dont farm, I went out of the buisness when hogs went down to 10 cents per lb and I was losing 40000 every 8 weeks. You know what the good old goverment wanted to do for me was give me 5 dollars per head with a limit to help me out. Now not it wasnt oil workers but I had people want to buy hogs for me for the freezer at 25 dollars per head because boy it was good for them. I never had anyone come to me and say buddy I know your down on your luck, how much will it take for you to break even on that hog and I will pay you that price. Im not bitter about not farming anymore because it worked out better for my family and I can have time to come to MS to catch your fish. The only point was I tring to make is that the oil companies will still make money or will shut down their wells until they can and everything will be fine and dandy,

I ain't no fan of bankers, but here's the rub..........I can CHOOSE to bank with xyz bank or not.......I can choose to shop here or there, But when it comes to the things that we all must have fuel included and it is supplied by a fixed market THAT is what I have a problem with...........

Do any of you think it is just an accident that nearly everything we must have to live a reasonably civilized life is part of a fixed market!

True, we do have limited choices in a fixed range, but fixed is the key. Even, goes to fishing bait and tackle.

As oil prices drop demand for diesel powered and the new natural gas powered heavy equipment drops , They spend less on new equipment for exploration. So where I work higher oil prices are better for business but lower fuel cost helps my personal economy on the front end, stays down to low to long it's bad for the company and me. We are all just along for the ride. Wish I lived out in the boonies I'd get me a big ole fuel tank and fill it up.

I don't understand all the debate. I don't see anyone complaining about how much they paid for whiskey, beer, cigs, fancy boats, trolling motors, debt finders, rain parkas', jump suits, campers, guns, fancy cookers, 10 times more tackle than you'll ever use and all the other "stuff" we "have" to have to make ourselves happy. More bragging on all that is what I always see. Do the math on what you pay for gas in a year compared to what you spent on everything else. Sure, the cheaper the better but in the scheme of things, its just one expense to be concerned about. And if you do the research there is less correlation between gas prices and inflation than it used to be many years ago. I said it before and will say it again, the US needs to start weening itself on Oil dependency altogether. There are alternatives! Not just about cost but risk to our security! You want a real debate, start on Health care cost! We're just a few months away from spring fishing!! Woo Hoo.

I don't think it really is much a debate its just unreal how they want to jack up the price of a barrel of oil !!! to me if the sand rats want the oil to be $100.00 a barrel then make their corn they want to buy $100.00 a barrel and if they don't like that tell to eat sand !!!! if this country would do the same to the country trying to screw us over then this stuff would STOP !!! health care is so outrageous because everyone is wanting to sue everybody at a drop of a hat and the doctors have to cover their butts with insurance well guess who pays for that we the people if we again would stop the nonsense on lawsuits we might get a good grip on the health care situation !!! but I am with you fishing !!! WOO HOO !!!!
