I found out I am a victim of Detroit (non)engineering. I had a trouble code come up on my wife's Saturn indicating it was running too cool most likely due to an open thermostat. I use to could change the thermostat in my old cars in less than 30 minutes. My shop that does my light maintenance like tires and oil etc. told me this job was more complicated than they would tackle.
3.6 hours labor to change it. It is buried such that you have to take half the engine out to get to it. I was an engineer in my career and if I had ever designed something like that, they would have fired me. Must be the Saturn engineers, we had to take the fuel tank off to change the fuel pump.
