I have the old Tight Line Specials too. I dont get too fish near as much as most on here but when I do they've never let me down. I spider rig and pull cranks with them. Might try to find something with a little softer tip to spider rig with one day but for now they will have to do.
    I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

My bnm jig pole tips last about two trips. I AM rough on equipment, but my ozark 14' do well. A little limber for some techniques, but I make do. I've beat then around and they hold up well. I've got a hodgepodge of rods, and some great BnM poles, but there are a few I don't care for, just haven't gotten around to replacing. Right now I have the tip section cut down 2 eyes on one rod, it does pretty well for being rigged up!

Didn't mean to start a best cranking rod thread. I crank with 12 pst's with no trouble and used 12'bgjp's with not trouble prior to the pst's , but we don't have the quality fish like ya'll do even though we have hooked into some pretty good trash fish from time to time. Just wanted to know if anyone had used 16ft bgjp's because I have a set of those for spider rigging that I could use to get just a bit wider, but they are awfully whipping on the tip. If I get brave enough or stupid enough, I may try it anyway. Thanks for all the input. A guy sure has some options I wasn't aware of if he is looking to buy some new ones.

Tell ya this. ... ol capt.dan's got a pair of 20' pst's that go hog wild when lifting a fish out of the water but they have held up so far. Only times I have broken tips is hooking into the 5/8 cable's on those house boats docked in the marina. Sounded like a 22 goin off.
