    • Use an electric “hot” wire around your garden. A two-wire electric fence, with wires five and 10 inches above ground, is effective. Make sure you water a strip abou 2' wide around the hot hot wire. A good ground is needed for the fence to be effective

I have an electric fence at 12" and 24" to keep the deer out, doing real good for that. I'll need to get another charger, wire and insulators since I'm at the limit of the charger now.

While it wasn't set up to be a trap at first a coworker told me about his cousin putting down a wire mat placing a piece of plywood on top then a pan on top of that. Ran a wire to the pan and one to the wire mat and filled it with water. Plugged it in. Killed three chickens before they could unplug it. Knew they would be in trouble so they dug a hole and just as they threw the last one in they heard something behind them it was the uncle and his dad. Said the uncle got his wife to get them boys some boiling water and let them clean those chickens. Said he never could convinve his dad that it was the cousins idea.
