Was at Island 40 Chute one time and the river was just starting to pull out so I went out the chute to the mouth of the river and after seeing all the debris floating, I stopped. A few minutes later a tree trunk about 2 ft. thick came flying up out of the water like it had been launched by a sub missile tube.About as quick as it appeared it disappeared!Did the tighten up!That Sippi River is a dangerous old dude!

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Maybe he is on to something...much smaller target! An 1860 is 90 square feet and a 1432 is 35 square feet. I've never fished the Mississippi but Fish the OHio regularly in fall and winter (Lund 2150 Baron) and can honestly say I've had to wonder if my sphincter was gonna be up to the task. I've seen logs that looked bigger than the boat come 3-4 feeet out of the water and just as fast disappear to somewhere below the surface. Used to, I rarely wore a life jacket, nowadays, I wear one religiously.

And in most cases you only see the tip of the so called iceberg. I know I've second guessed myself after heading out into the Ohio river.
