Yall have seen pics and heard the story but a few of us have stood where Feesh and Mrs Feesh were when the storm hit, I was in awe as I stood where their house used to be and Feesh described the event to me on the phone. I can not imagine what that day was like for them, they were and are truly blessed. I urge anyone who is doing any major construction to a home to include a storm shelter or safe room to the plans, just makes sense.

I like it. Put a stack on it and a fire box and it could double as a smoke house. Let me know how many back straps it'll hold.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
My wife would find a way to fill it full of junk in a month.
A couple that are friends of my family went thru Hurricane Andrew in Miami. They had already kissed each other goodbye as their house was being ripped apart and they were in an interior closet. When it was over, all that was left was that closet of their 5000 square foot home. They moved here to west KY the day they got their insurance settlement.
They bought a nice home on a watershed lake but it didn't have a storm shelter. They hired a contractor to come in and jackhammer up the garage floor and install a bunker shelter and pour concrete back on top. It has a trap door entrance from the top with a security door that looks like something out of a submarine.
Lots of folks thought it was an expensive boondoggle till we had a couple of close hit tornadoes. Now they look like the smartest couple in the neighborhood.

Here is some info Chris on the door. That one dosnt show a dead bolt. This is what FEMA recommends. I also watched a documentary year or so ago made at the University of Oklahoma in conjunction with Texas A/M . They definatley recommend 3 to 5 deadbolts along with 3 or more hinges on the door. They were shooting 2x4's into the different doors at 100 mph to show what could happen. The doors with one dead bolt when hit at top or bottom would bend and allow debris to enter room. Heard a report of a lady that lost her life over in Ark. During their storm because of that.

I put one in my home..peace of mind worth a million$$. I used familysafeshelters.com Only shelter tested at Texas A&M tornado testing site that while being tested actually had someone inside. rated for F5 and beyond. Never needed it yet and hope I never will! It also makes a great Gun Safe as well. Web site very informative, with video. U.S. Military actually using this company on Military bases for the housing neighborhoods in Arkansas. Question is what is you or your love ones safety and peace of mind worth? Well worth the cost!!
