Thread: Thanks To All!!!!!

It has been an awesome year for the Mississippi Crappie.Com Fruit Jar Series, we have had some tough tourneys but that's fishing and makes us better.
Today was the Championship to wind up the 2013-2014 season and it followed suit, 3 inches of rain yesterday afternoon in less than an hour put the oh so famous Grenada Lake on a rise. We had 21 folks qualify for the championship this year with well over a 100 different folks fishing with us through out the season.
10 boats left the ramp this morning as it started breaking day with high expectations in search of a sack full of keeper fish (7) to weigh-in at 2 this afternoon. 8 of the 10 would be disappointed as the Ole Girl (Grenada Lake) did what she has been doing all year, tuff on good anglers but when she gave up a fish it was usually a good one.
As the fish came into the scales it became pretty evident that 7 fish would be strong, 2 teams weighed in 7 and one with 6. They took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively with only .12 of a pound separating 1st and 2nd.
Big fish became a lifesaver for the them out-of-staters that go by BillyE and Hawgdog as they only caught one keeper but the pig weighed in at 2.17 to take the prize by .03 pounds, less than a half an ounce and paying $500 bucks. Very nice guys!!!! Big Blue/JerkinMeat and Mr. Goodtime/Rees Guide tied for second big fish and split $250.
Yikes and Speck came in kicking themselves for not being able to get their 7th fish today but it didn't take long to realize this would prove to be a dang good stringer today and put them in 3rd place and a $350 payday, think I heard them say something about a steak dinner tonight, well deserved, congrats guys!!!!
ATM teamed up with Bird Down as neither of their regular partners qualified for the championship but there was a snag, BD had other commitments and would only be able to fish till around 11 o'clock. Never fear when you are around Nader, there is always a "B" lurking around somewhere and sure enuff ATM found one. I ain't got a clue which "B" it was but he filled the seat well as they came to the scales with a very strong 7 fish stringer and what I actually thought was the new leaders when they weighed in. Their 7 fish weighed in at an impressive 12.33 and big fish of 1.94 giving them a $800 payday!!!!! Not sure how the split went but that "B" has been trained well, he went and got the envelope and had the money in his hand by the time he got to ATM!!!!
JerkinMeat and Big Blue showed out like they have been doing lately coming to the scales with the other 7 fish stringer caught today. These guys have been tuff all year, fished all the tourneys and been in the money on several occasions just coming off a win at Enid last month. Pushing the scales to the highest number we would see for the day, 12.45 pounds, they also tied for second big fish at 2.14. Jerkin and Blue would pick up another $1500 to go with their second big fish money, great payday guys!!!!!!
JerkinMeat and Big Blue are also our points champions for the 2013-14 seasons, congrats guys on an awesome season!!!!
