ok so now I know what freaking contact he was talking about was. He got here and we commenced to looking at things. Seems the "contact" he was talking about was the part--and it wasn't the "contact" I was thinking. When he said contact I was thinking the freaking terminal the wire goes to--NO the whole part is called a contact and has an electromagnetic "switch" that pulls in when the thermostat is activated--well duh. He took the plate off and pushed it in--and the fan came on--so either the contact is bad or the thermostat in the house. i will be changing both now that I know what I'm looking at. I do have a bit of a twitch now I think--can't really remember:biggrin
