i got a great idea, MOVE!!! before you get fried...
would if i could for sure.
Well with a tad bit of professional help--its the blue wire lol
I have ac now:cool: Ended up the last bad part was the pressure switch that is built into the condenser. Bypassed that puppy and good to go. did have to add some freon--ouch. Now on to the next challenge
Bypassing a pressure switch is much like bypassing a breaker/fuse. Not a good idea. Just sayin.....
true--seems (and this may be normal) the compressor has another pressure switch as well. Heck if it can keep going for a few weeks or months I good with it--will be getting a new unit sooner than later.
Did a bit more inspection----gewber didn't bypass anything--the wire was fixed--and added a bit more freon.
I had to take out a bank loan a few years ago for a 30# can of freon and a bottle of dye. The unit was froze, so I knew it was low on gas. I put 25 drops of dye in the charging hose then filled the unit. Ah, cool air, we can sleep now. Next day, the unit is froze again. The evap. unit drips outside into a bucket, it coated with red oil. I look at the evap. unit, find about 5 leaks 2 in the coil. I look at the cond. unit, about 5 leaks. Since the house is still my stepdad's I call him. 20 years ago he paid $200 for this system installed. He won't pay anymore than that to replace it. Window units were on sale at Lowe's at the time, I bought 3.
Mother built a cottage here in my backyard. The first receptacle in the kitchen area is a ground fault. It won't reset and 5 receptacles after it won't work.
Stepdad bought a used drop-in electric stove. He wants it fixed. The eyes will get a pan of 1" water deep to 105 degrees in about an hour. The oven won't heat up past 125 degrees.
