    Default Question for Rez fishermen

I went to the same spot yesterday that I went last Saturday and only caught 6 fish, but my question is have the females spawned out? Last week ever white fish I caught had eggs in them, but in the same 4 ft of water yesterday all te fish looked fat but didn't have eggs. They looked like females when I pulled them out of the water but after being in the cooler for a couple of hours they darkened up. I don't whether they were males or females. My dad cleaned them at his house so I didn't get to see them first hand but he called and asked me this question.

They were males bud. They're fixing to spawn starting the next few days. You shoulda tried in even shallower water. Bet most of your fish had moved in closer to the bank. We were catching some males in 2-3 FOW last Sunday. All males. Bet the Females are on the closest drop off to their spawning grounds now. Ima hit it in the morning since I can't fish today. Taking all the grand kids to the zoo today. Tomorrow ought to be one heck of a day for fishing. Winds 3-5 and it's gonna get up to 80 degrees today.

I am catching in 8 _ 12 fow . Mixed males and females . Those males darken up when in shallow water . I just dressed 25 caught yesterday on jigs . Had 20 wednesday same way but talke to a guy had 17 caught in 2 fow in the grass all males . If we can get a week straight with out it getting into the 30s we might can get them females in the grass . All the females are full of eggs still . Those males are so fat they look like there full of eggs maybe that is what is wrong with me . Full of something . The wind is making it difficult to fish most places . Good luck to you

    Default Question for Rez fishermen

The wind whooped our butts today and we only kept 10, but almost all were females still full of eggs in 10 fow.

What Feesh said, every big female we caught today was at least 10 foot deep, and sucked down tight to a ledge.

In my few years I have noticed that it seems as if you could break the lake up into several different lakes come spawning season, each of which spawn differently all that way through late April early June even. I have caught fish in 12 FOW when I've heard they are shallow, and caught fat females up shallow when reports were all saying the spawn was over. Still trying to get it figured out myself. I caught a full limit wading almost exactly 1 month ago while Thump was reporting fish were deep and hugging the bottom. Albeit his fish were bigger than mine!

And if I remember correctly you were at the other end of the lake. Fish seem to always spawn a month earlier at the south end of Barnett.
