I've used the Daiwas and BnM's while fishing with John Harrison, they were REALLY nice! Just bought 6 Okumas for $199 on ebay, won't get to try them out until I get home this summer. Planning on mounting them on different lengths of BnM's!

Off the back rod size doesn't matter much. I like the walleye crankbait trolling rods (Diawa Wilderness, Shimano TDR, Cabelas, BPS etc). Just be sure to get something that is moderate (not quite parabolic) in action. Okuma from Northwoods are about the best deal for linecounters. I only use mono but only have to deal with catfish and stripers, not toothy critters.
