Used to go all the time to sports shows. Now I can't see paying 9 bucks to go look at 60000 dollar boats. Back in the day I would buy a lure or 20 but now see few deals there. Liked the bass boat full of strike king spinnerbaits for a buck or maybe .50 back in the day. No more of that. Most stuff I can get off amazon cheaper.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.
That's right on the safety pins.....but my Mother soon bought me some hooks.....no bait shops or tackle stores back then......had to go to the hardware store which was downtown on main street with the rest of the stores to buy hooks. Had a lot of fun catching fish with that cane pole.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
