I wouldn't tell anyone about this but because we were gonna try it in some of the tourneys we were gonna fish this year but heck I just cant contain myself, I gotta share this............... Last fall me and Feesh were over on the Tenn Tomm fishing down a bank that had a deep ledge that dropped from 4 to 12 foot in one step, straight off drop Ima tellin ya, well we had picked up a couple of very nice slabs fishing down that ledge and Feesh made the comment to me, look at that hickory nut layin on the end of that log, and I said wow you couldn't have placed it there any more perfect, about that time a big ole red fox squirrel came down the log to get that hickory nut, very warily he eased down to the waters edge and reached his paw out and grabbed the hickory nut, almost grinning from ear to ear as to say, oh yeah I got me a easy meal, about that time the biggest, fattest, most obese crappie I have ever seen in my life jumped at the waters edge and in one big swipe, caught the fox squirrel in her mouth and hit the water with a big splash!!!!!! We were flabberghasted!!!! We both set there with out mouths gaped wide open, just looking in awe!!!! Feesh said to me, that was one bad arse crappie, whole time I am looking for a jig with some red hair on it, about to go into one big panic and I said man you aint lying, did you see the size of that crappie, as we sat there trying to get our game together there was a little boil right beside the log, as we watched that big ole fat crappie eased up to the surface and gently place another big ole hickory nut on the end of that log!
