    Default Sickle Hooks


    Has anyone had an issue on these hooks breaking from time to time ?

    Yes have had trouble with the red sickles all sizes breaking!!!!

    Sorry to disagree but the red sickles are just about all I fish with and I've never seen a problem with them breaking. I've gotten hung up numerous times and straightened the hook. I'll bend it back and continue fishing. I'm sure I've broken one before but I can't remember when.

    Probably 2 years ago I had a couple of bronze sickles break. Since then I haven't had any issues!!

    I agree with ScottV on the bend and bend it back. All I use in pouring my jigs are 1/0 and 2/0 red sickle hooks and havent ever had complaints about breakage.

    All I use are the 1/0 sickle hooks
    Never had an issue

    I bought a batch of Reds couple years ago that about 25% broke. Most broke while I was fooling with them to get in mold. Since that batch have had zero problems. I went to the Black Chrome and they seem to be tougher and fit my mold better.
