    I remember my grandpa having one similar to that when I was a kid. He used it mostly for catalpa worms. Brings back some good memories. :thumbup:

    I remember my uncle having one like that when I was a kid. When he died we got it, didn't last long with us kids.

    That's a great keepsake. Love that vintage homemaker fishing stuff. It would look killer in ANY man cave.

    way back then we made ours and I trapped roaches in the stores around for bait. that was before crickets. some bait shops sold roaches back then.

    I'm afraid I wouldn't fish if I had to touch a roach. Lol I'd rather use spiders.

    scott, I had an uncle that lived in Paragould, ark that told me about a man from there that when he would get on a bed of bream he would take a roach and bait his hook and get another out of the box and stick in the corner of his mouth to be ready to re-bait fast. not me. but we did fish with lots of roaches way back then before crickets. I've probably got several of the boxes like the one smooth has that we built and may have one of the domed roach traps I used to trap them.
