    Default It's cold

It was 12 when I got up today. No broke pipes. My problem is, it seems that I have 2 110 circuits in the living space I have open in this old house. I keep 2 bedroom doors closed at all times. I installed a door between the kitchen and the rear room and keep it closed too. If I plug a utility heater into one recpt. I kick the breaker to half of the space. If I plug it into another one I kill the other half of the space. I could get a 20 foot 10 gauge extension cord and try a recpt. in a closed off bedroom.
I have a new electric heater that shows the temp on the front. When it was 50 outside I set it at 61 and got the house to 70. I haven't reset it, it shows 43 on it now. I have an oil heater in the kitchen set at 70 and a utility heater in the living room that hasn't shut off in 2 days. It's 61 in here. I hate extra clothes.

why dont you buy a propane wall heater for the house seems it would be alot cheaper and safer, I guarantee a 3 of 4 brick wall heater will run u out of the house if you leave it wide open

Yep. Propane wall unit for the win. When we put central heat in my old (1930) house, we left a pair of propane wall heaters in the walls. One in the kitchen, and one in the den. They will get it so hot that you can not stand it, if you crank them up!

You sure got to be careful with that kinda stuff in older homes. X3 on the propane infrared heaters, get one big 5 grate with a blower for the big room and add a smaller 2 or 3 grate in the other room. Maybe a small 2 grate in the bath

I'm not adding anything until this place becomes mine. For the few that have been here will know kinda of the lay out. From my gravel driveway to the highway will be gone when construction starts on the Starlanding rd. interchange. I'll lose the house, out building, garden spot and half of 4 acres.
I used propane 2 years ago, but when I complained to my stepdad about the ac having problems he had the tank picked up. I bought 3 window units.

I did a surprise visit on a cousin yesterday. She had a large clay flower pot with a cast iron lid in the living room. It's her light bulb heater. It has a 3 way bulb as the control. She turned it on 50 and replaced the lid, 30 minutes later that lid was hot, 45 minutes later the living room was hot. She has one in the kitchen, bedroom and master bath. She said the other day with the cold spell we had her heat came on very little. They have cut her heating bill to almost nothing since the bulb doesn't use as much electricity as other heaters.
I have 4 large Terracotta pots in the shed. Some single base fixtures and cords, a good supply of 60, 75 and 100 watt bulbs to try before buying 3 way fixtures and bulbs.
