Most of those teams will have access to both, usually rigged slightly different to accommodate the bite and/or conditions.

They use the BGJP's more often tho!!! Just look in their rod racks at the tourneys. :-)

I agree, use what's best to you!!! I'm just gonna try for myself to see if I like em better than what I have now. I guess I'll have a set for every possible situation. I might have to get a cargo trailer to pull behind my boat so I can take all my gear!!! I guess I could hire a valet to bring me what I need in another boat. Hard to take 50-60 poles by myself!! Hehehe

I don't leave home without my BGJPs. Anything 3/4 ounce and under I use them 100% of the time spider rigging.

I use BGJP's for long lining and pulling small CB's all the time. I've not tried any of the others. If someone don't want theirs, send 'em my way. LOL
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Thx for the reply. Have you ever compared them to the C and C's? If so, why did you choose the BGJP's ?

I have used the 12'ers for pulling #5 flickers shads, but they were the old blue ones, and I had trouble with them breaking about 6" up above the joint. I've never spider rigged with the longer ones tho like C and C do. They must be a little stiffer than the CC's?

They use the BGJP's cause it sounds more sexy than a cane pole.

I do not own any of these rods I use the Wally Marshall Tightline Special but I have used these and they are very nice Spider Rigging rods they are made of kevlar and are priced good! The 14' are 39.95 I bought 4 as donations for door prizes to the KY Lake Shindig Last week! Wiskers from the KY board uses these rods and I fished with him in the spring and last week these are nice rods!
I have a set of the 14 footer's and really like them softer tip and plenty of backbone. 1/2 oz weight puts just a slight bend in tip and can see soft bite.

I have never done a side by side comparison in a trolling rack but I have both C&C & BGJP poles. There isn't allot of difference between the two as a blank pole. The C&C's have a longer foam handle from the reel back. The butt end is also beveled so you can adjust your tip height with little adjustments. The BGJP can handle a little more weight than the C&C without putting a big bend in the tip of the pole. It seems to me the C&C’s are a little lighter in hand. Although you can’t go wrong with either pole it just comes down to personal preference.
I prefer to troll with 16’ BGJP’s most of the time, especially during the spring. I use 14’ C&C’s during the winter when the fish are deep. I also like using 14’ C&C poles when I’m fishing brush tops for black crappie.
