I've actually considered dragging a nylon ski rope with a float on the end the same distance as my line, just so folks can see how far out I am. Losing a few jigs would be annoying, having someone slice a bunch of cranks loose would really boost my blood pressure a few points

Get about 150 yards of that 300 pound trout line cord. Paint a few 2 L plastic bottles red, tie them and an 8 oz. sinker on every 25 yards. Others will know your space soon.
