well Scott, if I get to go this coming weekend, I will be able to tell you what colors don't work LOL I am putting up the cranks and gonna start back on jigs. Not sure if I will spider rig or long line, but probably long line since I am more use to it versus spider riggin.

Steve and I tried spider rigging jigs this morning at Okatibbee and didn't do too good. Water temp is still 84 and the crappie aren't on the stumps and tops yet. We'd have done better pulling cranks but I'm getting tired of that.

Chart hair, Chart flash, White body, and white head with that black and orange eye. I did good with that combo a little later in the spring when the water cleared. I had been fishing black and chart and they were just sucking it in and then I changed to the white and chart and they started smashing it.

Now ya talking. Add some sparkly streamers to the white hair.

I have always been taught clear water, dark baits.Dark water, light baits. And it makes sense in clear water all fish are darker including bait fish. And vice versa.

I was told that about cranks from kent Driscoll. Guess it works on jigs as well. Know when it's early and or cloudy, I've put on black cranks n had very good luck

The white, green and olive on the left should kill'em. It seems like they prefer darker contrast there. We used to load the boat with white or pink head and black marabou or natural squirrel tail that a local tied. All 3 look good.
