After looking at how some of your boats were rigged today and Rees convincing me that the wife and I need to start gearing up for spider rigging sardis.
Here is my ideas on the gear.
Twin seat bracket from cumberland crappie. 180.00
poles crappie maxx signature 14'
6 240.00
hi tek rod holders 2@ 82.00 each
164.00
Reels: open face spinning
None chosen yet 25.00 x 6 each
150.00
This seems to be the bulk of the cost to start spider rigging for two.
734.00
That doesn't include shipping and applicable sales taxes, line, jigs etc.
So I think we will be single poling from different ends of the boat. We will start with the first crappie rods we bought. Zebco 10' crappie killer glass poles. They were 25.00 each and came with a little spinning reel. The only backbone seems to be in the handle.
We will need 2 minnow buckets. I want to do this right the first time so any preferances or reviews and suggestions would be appreciated.
As time goes by I will aquire the other stuff. If you have suggestions on the gear I've listed please let me know.
Y'all coached us from 0 to double limits in a matter of a few weeks trolling bandits. With the chill in the air those days seem short. Time to start dunkin minners and the like. Look forward to y'alls ideas and the like. ds
oh no--you want the hi teks for sure--though the spyderlocks are nice too.
talking about the double seat set up--EZ Pole Perch--the guy is out of GA.
And why did Rees just now convince you to start spider rigging? I got pics from all summerjk
you'll love it for sure--and don't forget the drift socks--biggest one's you can get.
Gotch ya, will google that setup. Thanks !!
So what kind if minner bucket keeps them puppies alive for you over the long hot summer ?
I just use the Frabil 4.25 gallon one and put some ice in it-use the 12v plug in-will last for the day.
I also have the Frabil bait station--but it crapped out on me--won't spend that 80 bucks again![]()
Hey those look like they could fit the bill. They look adjustable, which is a must. You are right 92.00+12.00 s&h.
Your boat sporting this setup?
I can give you a starters design you can get from lowes for bout $60-$80 for a 4 pole and 2, 2 pole
rod holders. You dont have to get any high dollar rod holders. Get you 6-8, a minimum of 12 foot rods. 14s are better and your good to go. I've caught just as many fish as anyone else using my cheap rig. The BGJP B&M poles are great and you can get a deal from a couple places likes Monks for buying multiple rods. The rods are more important than anything else. Rod holders just hold your rods in place
