    Default Additional Electronics Battery

I'm thinking about adding another battery dedicated just to my electronics. That way, no matter how long I fish, I wont have to worry about pulling down my starting battery. I don't really want to run them off my trolling batteries since it is a 36 volt system. Don't want he extra load on one of the trolling batteries. I don't think I have enough room in the back for another battery so I'm thinking about adding one to the storage compartment in front to the drivers console with a dedicated fuse block just for the electronics. What are your thoughts pro or con?

I carry jumper cables....never had to use them but they are there if I need them....I run my live well pump, a air pump, and my electronics all off of my cranking battery. I have thought about mounting one of those Harbor Freight solar battery chargers on the right rear corner of my back deck and connecting it to my cranking battery but never pursued it.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Jumper cables will work but that would mean I would have to disconnect one of my trolling batteries off its series to jump the starting battery, right? You can't jump a 12 volt system with a 36 volt system.

Yes you can. Just connect the jumper cables to ONE trolling battery.

Speck I have thought of this also, but with limited space I have yet to act on it. Was wandering if one could use one of the lawnmower batteries that are 12volt since they are smaller and would fit in different places. don't know if it is feasible or not but have thought of this

So even if they are connected in series, as long as you only connect the jumpers to one trolling battery, you are still only drawing 12 volts off of it?

I thought the same thing Larry. Just not sure how long a lawnmower battery would last.

That's how I have mine now. I also added some 3 prong marine plugs to the side of the box so I could plug other stuff up when needed, like the minnow bucket, lights for night fishing ect.
