If you do use treated, make sure any hardware that touches it is stainless steel or triple hot dipped galvanized. The preservatives now used to treat lumber will disintegrate anything less, in an amazingly short period of time. I don't know it for sure ,but I wouldn't think composite decking would have the strength it needs to support that kind of weight. Cypress sounds like a real good idea if you can find it.

Cant do that, too much hieghth to a 4x4, got to get 2x6s and rip em down to 4 3/4 wide so the boat will set rite. Its on 2x6s now where someone eplaced em and it makes the boat sit wrong, called Bass Cat and they gave me the factory specs.

Buddy of mine has a portable saw mill in Winona. He was cutting cypress from time to time. He might have some cypress. Pm me if you want to go that route and I'll give you his number.

If you know someone on a fire department get some firehose instead of carpet.2X4 will slide in and just staple up the ends.

Fire hose will hold water......just carpet the top and sides.....leave bottom open so wood will dry out.....will last a lot longer
