Would say if you were running 100 out its really not but 65 or 70, run mine all full all the time. If I backlash one or have to cut a good bit of line for whatever reason I get another one out of the rod box.

Don't cast and you won't backlash. I fill mine up halfway with cheap line then tie on good line and fill up. If the spool is not full it will not read as accurate.

Duck the best thing to do is mark off a 100 ft. Then take line and pull it out to that and see what your counter reads. Also with your reel half full you really reduce your retrieve speed, having to crank faster to retrieve same amount of line.

My 20s only show 135 feet at a measured 150feet when the spool is full to 1/8 inch. Compensate.

I have five Okuma 20 DX reels. On the reel it says the line capacity is 290 yards of 14 lb line. I want to spool them with 10 lb mono line. Other than stepping it off, how do I know how much line I am putting on the reel ? If I may be so bold, I have two Okuma 45 DX reels for Catfishing the Mississippi. I want to spool them with 50 lb mono. How do I know how much line I am putting on them as well ? Thanks
