    The cooler weather is nice for sure... we're getting a much welcomed taste of it too... and it's funny that you posted this because yesterday I did the exact same thing... I had a hankerin' for some homemade soup too... only I decided to make homemade chicken noodle soup. When I came home with all of the ingredients and told my wife what I was planning to do she looked at me like she thought I had surely lost my mind. Later she said, "you know what... now you've got me looking forward to that soup too."

    I like to fix mine and then let it set overnight in the refrigerator in the pot and have it the following night. I don't really know what happens to it overnight... like many other stews, soups and sauces... but to me it's much better when I do it that way.

    Gotta bust out the Mr. Heater to put in the boat!!!
