Gotta have them gas checks to keep the pressure from escaping and to keep from melting you projectile bases.

Sorry for the short answer, I was going over what ammo was going to cost me with the price increase of supplies.
I reload ammo, maybe shot more lead down range in a week than most do in a year to 5 years. Light loads can be just the lead bullet, but heavy loads need a gas check on the base of the bullet. I can buy gas checks ready made to place on the bullets, I have a stamp to cut them out of what material I wish. I get a lot of aluminum cans so that cost is cheaper than buying material to use.
I cast more bullets and sinkers in a month than most people do in a life time.
I almost bought a machine to make my own jacketed bullets. But you have to buy the right size coils of lead and copper for that.
I have presses for 12 and 20 gauge too.
