    Default To hot to fish?

When, if ever, is it to hot for YOU to fish. Me? I will tough it out to around 91 or so. Hotter than that, and I would rather be in the pool!

We fished Pickeick a couple yeas ago in late July and made it til about 2 or so but just couldn't last any longer. It was 101 for the high that day and even in the shade we were just boiling in sweat.

As I get older, the heat affects me more. I don't want to to die on the fishbank, so I limit my fishing during a heatwave.

Went fishing on a river back home several weeks back. Not sure how hot it had gotten. I almost decided to anchor in a litttle somewhat shaded cove but then pulled the anchor and headed for the ramp. Parked the boat and weakly went after the truck and trailer. It was some hot in the truck. Managed to get the trailer backed down the ramp. Had to sit down on the ramp before I cold load the boat. I was just about to pass out. Had a hard time trying to get the boat on the trailer. Finally just gave up and left it sitting on the trailer crooked. Drove about 5 miles to my mothers place went up stairs went to bed under a fan. Moral of this story. Went to late, stayed to long, and got to hot. Had I of stayed in the cove I am not sure what would have happened.

Thank God for Sun- Brella!I drank about 8 20oz. bottles of water Thursday and with a nice breeze, I was fine.As far as a 10-100. Didn't come till about 6 pm.Those days when there is no breeze they really get tough.Being dark complected helps.I've always stayed active outdoors and know when to take breaks and hydrate.Folks on certain kinds of meds have to really be careful!I also try to keep a cool wet towel in my cooler to put on my head or around the back of my neck!
