    Default What Lake

Is the best for jig fishing in the summer months? I hear Barnett is good but never been there.

Ole lake beds on Barnett can be REAL GOOD in the hottest part of the summer. I've seen a couple of MissSlabs stringers jig fishing in the heat of summer and they were impressive. Ole Hugh may be fugly but the boy is one heck of a jig fisherman

WE USED TO FISH THE TREES RIGHT OUT FROM GREYSPORT . USUALLY HAD ABOUT TEN FT. OF LINE OUT AND WOULD EASE IT DOWN . WOULD GET ONE BITE PER TREE . THIS WAS EARLY BEFORE IT GOT HOT . WE THEN WOULD LOOK FOR CLUSTERS OF IRONWOOD BUSHES NEAR THE RIVER (TOWARD YOUNGS LANDING, 20 FT. WATER ) TAKE A STICK AND BANG THE TREES(MORE IS BETTER )TO GET THE SNAKES OUT . THEY WILL BE IN THE SHADE ABOUT 10-12 FT. DEEP . THE CYPRESS TREES THAT HAVE LIMBS JUST OFF THE WATER WILL ALSO HOLD THEM ON THE SHADY SIDE . KEEP MOVING AS WE NEVER CAUGHT MANY IN ONE PLACE .
