MEK will soften that glue or might try some GOOF OFF has worked pretty good for me and wont hurt the paint.

Ended up using a Fien multi-tool with a scraper blade to clean it off and then got some contact gel glue and its doing good!!! Fixxing to start on the lids.

Love it but the Fein or Fien, whatever, it is is a little pricey. If you arent gonna use it alot they make some cheaper ones that will do fine.
