    Default Checked on Water

I was at Enid yesterday when a GW rolled up on us to check us out. I had to shut the cranks down and roll up the poles. We put our cooler in his boat and he checked our fish (30 at that time) and made sure our boat had all of its safety supplies.

I just wanna say that this young man was very kind and courteous. He apolgized for "interupting" our fishing and thanked us for our time. Doesn't bother me one bit for a man doing his job!

Some of the best GW's out there are on Enid. They some times wont even stop ya from fishing when they can get to your catch without having to stop.

Personally, that would tick me off. If he wants to check em, see me at the ramp. That's not to say I wouldn't comply...technically, I don't think we have the right to tel him to step off, but I believe we should.

Reminds me of a hunt I was on with my bro. He was hunting a box blind on a big food plot. At 4:30, a game warden comes strolling down the road, walks 200 yards to the stand an asks my brother to come down and show his license. Said thanks and he strolled away.

That ain't right. It's legal but it ain't right.

I've had nothing but positive encounters with the guys here at Enid. They are respectful to me, and I am to them. I haven't been checked very many times, but I have never met any GWs like we had in Chickasaw county when I was hunting down there. They were polar opposites to the ones up here at Enid.

We got checked by the same guy. I did learn something though. Inflatable PFD's don't count toward the boat jacket count unless they're being worn. Luckily we had some extra regular jackets stashed under the seats.
