Then used the Minwax stain called Gunstock. put on one coat and rubbed slick. Then used the Rub on Poly G told me to use and did it like he told me. 3 coats rubbed with steel wool after the first 2. Used the Satin finish instead of high gloss. Thanks G for the info. That rub on finish is the only way to go.
