Thread: Flatheads

Late yesterday afternoon my cousin had a wild hair and wanted me to help him set some lines on the Big Black River. We only had time to catch a few bait fish so we didn't set but a couple of lines. Went back this morning to check them and we had a total of 11. 10 were flatheads and 1 big blue. The flatheads ranged from 3 lbs to 12 lbs. sorry I didn't get any pictures but was in an exteme hurry(had to get my newborn to his 6 week checkup by 11 and wife would have killed me if I had been late).
I dont know why I don't do it anymore than I do because we have access to the river through our property.

I have been really disappointed not catching any flatheads on cranks while pulling for crappie, used to catch em all along green carp fishing with cranks. Hope the check up was good and congrats again on the new born!!
